Inuit Clothing Materials

Most parkas were made out of caribou hair and skin, but they used other skins too. When parkas were made out of bird skin, the feathers were also used as added insulation. Women wore special large-hooded parkas called 'Amautis'. The large hood was used to carry babies and young children (Goldi Productions Ltd, 2007)
